The City of Grain Valley's PIO is responsible for utilizing the City's website and social media platforms to keep citizens informed of community events, city services, and resources. In the event of an emergency, the PIO would act as the liaison between the Police Department, city staff, and media outlets to inform the community of the most up-to-date information.
Grain Valley's PIO is also responsible for coordinating and promoting special events for the City, such as the annual Downtown Spooktacular and Holiday Festival community events.
News and press releases can be found on this page of the website, while you can stay connected with the City by following on Facebook and Twitter. The City sends alerts and press releases to local media as necessary. If you are a member of the media and would like to be added to our media contact list, please email tlor@cityofgrainvalley.org.
Social Media Policy
The City of Grain Valley social media policy has been established to clarify the responsibility of all City staff and elected officials in reference to their usage of any social media platforms. This policy also relates to the public’s use of City social media posts.
On occasion, our staff may photograph participants in park programs or at special community events. Please be aware that these photos are for our use only and may be used in future brochures, flyers, our web page, and/or on social media. By registering for any recreation/community programs, you agree to allow the publication of any photos taken at any program, event, or facility. To have an image of yourself and/or your child(ren) removed online, please contact the Public Information Officer via email at tlor@cityofgrainvalley.org.
