The City of Grain Valley's PIO is responsible for utilizing the City's website and social media platforms to keep citizens informed of community events, city services, and resources. In the event of an emergency, the PIO would act as the liaison between the Police Department, city staff, and media outlets to inform the community of the most up-to-date information.
Grain Valley's PIO is also responsible for coordinating and promoting special events for the City, such as the annual Trail or Treat and Holiday Festival community events.

Social Media Policy
The City of Grain Valley social media policy has been established to clarify the responsibility of all City staff and elected officials in reference to their usage of any social media platforms. This policy also relates to the public’s use of City social media posts.
