Water/Utility Billing options

The City of Grain Valley offers two different billing methods for the sewer portion of the bill -the Volume Method and Winter Average.  At the beginning of the year, water customers will receive a form along with their water bill that allows customers to choose which method works best for them:

The Volume Method for sewer billing is based on actual water usage.  Customers who choose this option pay for the same number of gallons of sewer as they use in water, no matter what month it is.

Customers who choose the Winter Average sewer billing option are billed based on their average water usage for November, December, and January (billed in December, January, and February).
