Grain Valley, MO (June 6, 2022) -- On Saturday, June 4, Grain Valley Public Works hosted its annual City Wide Clean Up event - giving residents the opportunity to properly dispose of household items not covered under the normal collective service. 

According to Public Works Maintenance Assistant, Stefanie Ambrose, the event had a great turn out with drop-off time scheduled between 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

 “We had cars lined up the entire time to drop off. In total we filled up two metal dumpsters and seven regular dumpsters. There was a total of 183 cars that came through by the end of the event” said Ambrose. “As for the service for seniors, Public Works picked up 22 on Thursday, June 2, and 23 on Friday, June 3 - with a total of 45 senior residents’ trash picked up.”

In other news, additional household hazardous waste can be collected at two Jackson County facilities located in Lee’s Summit and Kansas City, Missouri. Yard waste is scheduled to be collected at the Jackson County Yard Waste Collection Center in Oak Grove from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - every Saturday between April and November.
