Downtown Grain Valley Facade Update

In response to community input gathered through surveys and engagement efforts, the City of Grain Valley began investing in the preservation and revitalization of Downtown.
At the end of 2024, the Board of Aldermen approved funding for ten façade grant requests through a one-time program focused on Downtown Grain Valley. The grants, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), required matching contributions from property owners. The purpose of the program was to support improvements that enhance curb appeal, preserve historic elements, and contribute to the overall revitalization of the area.
Work began the first week of April 2025. Since then, several original features that had been covered for decades were uncovered, including brickwork on the east side of Main Street that had not been visible in approximately 40 years.
The goal of the effort was to help restore the character of Downtown and support continued investment in the area. Additional updates, including photos from the Grain Valley Historical Society, are expected to be shared as the projects progress.
