Grain Valley, MO (May 12, 2025) - The City is set to begin a major infrastructure investment with the Front Street Project, scheduled to start on May 19, 2025, weather permitting. This transformative project, stretching from Greg Street to Kirby Street, represents a key component of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan and is designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and stormwater management in the area.

Planned upgrades include:

  • · New sidewalks and streetlights
  • · A fully reconstructed road with curbs
  • · Updated stormwater infrastructure, including drainage pipes and boxes
  • · Waterline improvements

Construction is expected to begin with new water line installation beginning the week of May 19th. Followed by stormwater system installations, including pipes, curbs, and drainage boxes, starting the week of June 2nd. The project is anticipated to be completed by the Spring of 2026.

Residents along Front Street have been notified of upcoming construction, and contractors will provide major updates via doorhangers as the project progresses. While currently a residential corridor, this investment supports the City’s vision of transforming Front Street into a more connected route, enhancing access and laying the groundwork for future growth.
