Chief James Beale has announced his retirement from the Grain Valley Police Department after serving the profession of law enforcement for a total of 38 years.

Beale joined the Grain Valley Police Department in 2009 and has fulfilled various roles in his 13 years with the department - most recently as the Chief of Police since 2018.

During Chief Beale’s tenure the police department started Camp Focus for local youth, worked towards increased community outreach and saw the successful passing of a bond issue for a new police station. We are thankful for the years of service Chief Beale has given Grain Valley. He looks forward to spending more time with his family and we wish him the best of luck in his retirement.

The City of Grain Valley, Missouri will begin a national search for the position moving forward.
